In the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, it was said that if difficulty in breathing, fever, cough persists for more than 5 days, immediately consult a doctor. These guidelines were discussed in the month of January. In case of severe symptoms or high fever, remdesivir (200 mg IV on the first day and then 100 mg IV OD for the next 4 days) can be considered for five days.

Earlier on Thursday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had written to the state governments of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka to follow the strategy of testing, tracking, treating and vaccinating.
